Mission Hills Bowl (I)

Mission+Hills+Bowl

09/26/1999 - 10430 Sepulveda Boulevard, Mission Hills. Martin Stern, Jr., Architect.

A perfect example of how haphazard remodeling dilutes great googie buildings, often to the point where they attain 'eyesore' status and get torn down. I don't know what color the building and perforated girders were originally, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't STARK WHITE. And it's also probably safe to assume the original Mission Hills Bowl sign looked more like this.
